BRANDSCAN is a set of vision-based computing capabilities that can understand what brand you’re looking at and use that information to identify brands and related markers, explore information, discover products, and take other useful actions.

Search what you see

BRANDSCAN lets you search what you see. Using a photo, your camera or almost any image, BRANDSCAN helps you engage with a brand and related content, gathering content directly from that brand.


BRANDSCAN identifies specific markers in your picture and uses those images based on their relative to those images or logos from the brand. BRANDSCAN also uses its understanding of markers in your picture to find other relevant content from the web. BRANDSCAN may also use other helpful markers, such as words, language, and other metadata on the brand’s host site, to determine ranking and relevance.

When analyzing an image, BRANDSCAN often generates several possible results and ranks the probable relevance of each result. BRANDSCAN may sometimes narrow these possibilities to a single result. Let’s say that BRANDSCAN is looking at a sports team logo that it identifies as probably 95% NFL team. In this case, BRANDSCAN will show the result for that sports team, which BRANDSCAN has judged to be most visually similar.

Relevant and useful results

BRANDSCAN always tries to return the most relevant and useful content. To ensure BRANDSCAN content is relevant, helpful, and safe, BRANDSCAN identifies and filters unrelated results. These results are identified using brand standards.
